International Opera Project

International Opera Project rehearsalThrough the generous support of the Ohio Arts Council, M&PA staff have worked for 17 months in collaboration with the Oberlin Conservatory and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Argentina to present master classes, outreach programs, and prepare a performance of Henry Purcell's magnificent opera Dido & Aeneas, staged in the nave of Trinity Cathedral.

The production's only American performances will take place on Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31, 2004. The opera will be performed in Buenos Aires at the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in March. In addition to the collaborative performance of Dido & Aeneas, Teatro Colon institute students will perform Gianni Schicci by Pucchini.
